A 1939 signing from Ayrshire junior club Craigmark Juniors, "Cubby" became a Hibernian hero with his dashing forward play. Like so many of his generation his career was badly hampered by the outbreak of the Second World War when he would have been at his peak.

Joined Third Lanark in July 1949 and also played for Stenhousemuir. Retired in April 1957, and then worked as a civil servant.

What a record for goals per game over the years. I'm interested in the five hat tricks he score over two seasons circa 41/42. Unbelievable!
